YHWACH //ALMIGHTY.

laws.
i. Independent roleplay (side)blog for Yhwach from BLEACH, intellectual property of Kubo Tite. I do not own the character, only the interpretation and fan theory/headcanons.ii. This blog will contain mature and potentially triggering content. Follow at your own discretion.iii. Standard rp etiquette applied.iv. I do prefer my writing partners to be over the age of 21, due to themes and subject matters present.v. I don't write Yhwach because I think he's good or a well written character. I write him because I think his canon is a disjointed and I wanna see if/how I can do differently.vi. My specific HC/rewrite for Yhwach is below. It’s considered meta knowledge and it probably doesn’t matter if you don’t read the whole thing. By that I mean nobody knows about this in the world of Bleach, with the exception of the Soul King himself and maybe Ichibe (who is a stealth npc here, along with askin, jugram and lille barro), unless we've specifically plotted it.TL;DR: Yhwach is not a soul or a person; he’s a sentient phenomenon manifested through the quincy’s collective wish for him to be what he appears to be.vii. I have a quick and dirty rule to avoid any direct comparison or analogy of Yhwach to any real world religion or ethnic group. I don't find that to be an appropriate approach to the character and material. I explained this a little more here.viii. also present on this blog: askin, lille, jugram, and a surprise shinji.
p.s. i do write nsfw/sexual content with yhwach on this blog, but only with partners i am familiar and in regular communication with, given yhwach's nature and position. that said, i do not see him in a sexual relationship with the sternritter; they are his children with the exception of gerard, and pernida--who is a hand.
theory.

Yhwach is a dream. He’s not a creature or soul but more of an artifact and a manifestation. He’s the Soul King’s "son" as a kind of natural Hogyoku that manifests the desires of those he/it comes in contact with. But he also changes them in the process through the soul exchange. When he came into contact with his first followers who gave him the name "Yhwach," he turned them into the first quincy. But in so doing, he also created a great lack in these new people. What do the quincy lack? Individually, they each have their own shortcoming that is redeemed by Yhwach’s soul sharing. Collectively, the quincy as a group lacks a purpose after being separated out from their peers. Yhwach fulfills that lack by becoming the embodiment of a purpose: a leader. He gives them a set of values, a community in which they belong, and, finally, he promises them a kingdom/home. Even though he’s also the one who created the lack/need in the first place. That is what Yhwach is. He is the catalyst AND the result of the quincy's collectively making a wish. He is the dream of a new world, dreamt up by the people he creates: if Yhwach doesn’t exist, the quincy wouldn’t exist, then Yhwach as we know wouldn’t exist. That's why everything he does, everything he IS, seems circular. He has no real goal, because he is not real from the beginning, but an elusive phenomenon conjured through a series of unlikely coincidences and fateful chances. A mirage. A psychological trap. A nightmare and a dream, that when awakened, is but a reflection of a reflection.Yhwach is a dream. And a dream awakens.
